Lilac

I am not a fan of floral scents but lilacs remind me of home. At the house I grew up in on Cape Cod there was a massive overgrown lilac bush in the middle of our yard. It had an entrance and a little hollowed out space in the center that my childhood dog Ginger had made and maintained over the course of her 17 years with us. She’d lay inside in the shade all day in the summer.
